North Shore Auto Service offers a large variety of services while providing one level of service - the best. This means when it comes to parts, our preference will be OEM, genuine(from a dealer), or a premium line of aftermarket parts. We also don't offer the famous trio "good", "better", "best" option as some other repair shops. As stated before, we only offer the best. This requires using the highest grade parts available which cost more - our service prices reflect this. So if you are looking for a discount brake job, like a quick "pad slap", or want us to install your parts, please look elsewhere. We have integrity. We will never lower our standards just to make a quick buck.
Our area of specialty is troubleshooting. Whether its electrical, mechanical, chassis or driveline issues, our highly skilled and multi decade experienced techs can solve your vehicles issues.

Due to lack of support, as well as major quality control issues with many parts for older cars, we are being very selective on what manufacturers we will continue servicing.
VINTAGE CAR SERVICES
The "old school mechanic" is slowly disappearing. This is mostly due to many retiring and sadly many have passed. Not all repair shops are capable of being able to properly repair cars from the 80's and earlier. There are only a handful of shops remaining in the area that are staffed with techs who have more than 30+ years of experience, we are one of them. These techs have real world experience replacing points, setting dwell and ignition timing, adjusting carbs, repacking wheel bearings and performing brake shoe service. While we don't work on these cars everyday, 2 of our techs began their career when carburetors and distributors were still in common use. They know how to do a "tune up."
>Old School Tune-ups:
Distributor Cap, Distributor Rotor, Spark Plugs, Ignition Wirees, Ignition Points, Adjust Igniton Timing, & Adjust Carb
>Carburetor Service: Full in-house rebuild and refurbishing services
*>Original Part Rebuilding Services, For Those Wanting To Keep It All Original: Carburetors, Distributors, Water Pumps, Mechanical Fuel Pumps, Alternators & Generators, Starter Motors, Brake Master Cylinder, Brake Wheel Cylinders, Steering Gear Box, Vacuum Operated Wiper Motors and Steering Columns. Theses services are based on the availability of rebuilt components

The shortages for some old car parts has gotten worse. Some parts are no longer available and almost impossible to find. There are also quality control issues that we are experiencing with reproduction parts. These challenges may impact what type of services and we can perform.
We are a family owned and operated auto repair shop. Our goal is to provide the best service possible. This requires attention to detail, an experienced and skilled staff, and installing high quality parts. Skilled workmanship, modern equipment, technician training, and superior quality parts all come at a price. We make every effort to be as fair as possible with our prices. But we will never sacrifice the quality of our service, nor jeopardize our integrity if it means lowering our standards just to meet another shops prices. One of our favorite quotes from long, long ago.... ”The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."
Thank you for visiting.
